Germans
have a funny way of doing things. Whether it be the way they talk (teehee) or the way they dress (teehee) or the way they dance (teehee), they always have to be a little above the norm. Such is the case with the Wii launch. Instead of a standard wait in line get a ticket approach, apparently this store inGermanydecided to hold a contest: fastest people get their Wiis first. Check out the hysteria and mad dash in the video above. All thanks to ourGermanbroham Fana7ic for the video and pictures. We owe you a beer.
Check out one German’s tale after the jump.
Fana7ic’s launch day:
So I was really excited about the Wii. I woke up at 5 am in the morning and took the bus at 6 am to the mall. I arrieved there at 7 am and none was there and I thought fuck I´m the only jerk here waiting for the Wii.
I found out that the Mall openes at 8.45 so I had quite some time to kill. Good thing I had my PSP with me. Yeah I take a Sony handheld to a release of a Nintendo console (because my Ds was out of energy this morning).
So i just sat there and play Burnout and killed time.
After some time and a breakfast at Mac Donalds ( including burning my tongue with damn hot coffe) I went into the Mall and there already sat some guys which somehow managed to make it in ftont of the electronics store before me probably because I stayed too long in Mac Donalds. We talked a little bit and they were all cool.
Some of them did this the first time and some did this already a few time (one guy even got every Nintendo console at the 1st day). At 10 am they finally opened the gates and everybody ran like hell. I managed to score a Wii, Zelda and Redsteel (btw: Europe got a Wii Sports case too). After the running we exchanged Email adresses and went home.
