Despite having troops on the ground at TGS and the hardest working staff this side of a Chinese sweat shop, we’ve been scooped on some TGS news by the nefarious ne’re-do-wells atJapanator. Don’t think I don’t know what you’re doing over there, Japanator staff! Bringing us videogame news so hot it couldkill. They bring news (most likely for evil reasons) of the Playstation Network’s upcoming manga distribution network, which has been announced to launch in Japan this December. After all, the Wii can’t have all the (insert stereotype about manga here) fun.

The network will allow PSP owners to download mangas for their reading pleasure when they’ve decided that it’s time to stop playing since their hands are starting to cramp. And seriously, if you ever want to give up gaming forever, the amount of manga hitting this network will make sure that you’re able to still use your PSP for other reasons. The service already features eleven of Japan’s major manga publishers, including the Kadokawa group, Kodansha, Square Enix, and Bandai Visual. With over 100 mangas scheduled to hit on launch day there’s going to be plenty of crammed-onto-a-tiny-screen reading to do. Still, less paper volumes taking up space on your bookshelf… that is if it ever makes its way to the West.
