The BP Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico is soooo six months ago and jokes about oil pipes and the Mushroom Kingdomhave been done before. Therefore, it would be very easy to dismiss Super Mario BP Oil Spill, which just landed on Newgrounds Monday.
I’d urge you to go and give it a shot anyway. The game has you controlling Mario in a water stage set below a BP oil rig. Oil issues towards the surface from holes at the bottom, which you must plug with the corpses of Cheep-Cheeps who die upon contact with the oil before the entire screen is flooded in black. As you progress, BP starts to send depth charges, divers and submarines to stop you.
It’s fun and gets pretty tough as you move on. Definitely worth taking a five minute procrastination break on.
