Here’s some good news for the few of you who actually wanted to put your football coaching skills to the test without springing for the 20th Anniversary Collector’s Edition ofMadden NFL 09. Contrary to all information that we hadhitherto heard, it turns out that EA will now be putting outNFL Head Coach 09by itself. According toPeter Moore(and EA’sofficial news poston the game’s Web site), this was a direct result of fan feedback — nicely done, guys!
Unfortunately for football strategists looking to pick up the game, the standalone version won’t be out until three weeks after its release in the 20th Anniversary Collector’s Edition on August 12th. Look forNFL Head Coach 09on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 to hit store shelves on September 2nd, the day after Labor Day, for $49.99. Yeah, I also think the price point is about ten bucks too high, but what are you going to do? It’s EA.
