Sony has officially announced thelatest security breach, which affected Sony Online Entertainment and led to the outage of all related services. As well as apologizing, Sony has confirmed that it will be extending subscriptions, as well as a further “make good” plan.

Sony will be offering thirty day subscription extensions for its MMO users, andDC Universe Onlineplayers will also be getting a complimentary Batman-esque mask for their characters. The company said that it’s working on something forFree Realmsplayers, too.

“Sony is making this disclosure as quickly as possible after the discovery of the theft, and the company has posted information on its website and will send e-mails to all consumers whose data may have been stolen,” said the platform holder, having learned its mistakesfrom the last roundof criticism.

Roughly 24.6 million SOE accounts were stolen, with names, addresses, phone numbers, and pretty much everything detailing those people at risk. Bank account numbers have also been exposed.
