Shenmue going social game is something I’m still wrapping my head around. I’m dizzy thinking about how this could all turn out. But judging by the new details just released, it looks like the game is in good hands.
Shenmue’s daddy, Yu Suzuki, has created a company called Ys Net awhile back.Shenmue Citywill be their first project, saysAndria Sang. Sunsoft will be releasing and managing the game on both Yahoo! Mobage and Mobagetown. Sega will be supervising the production.Â
This will be a sidestory in the Shenmue timeline, and is set in Yokosuka, the setting of the originalShenmuegame. Players will play as the game’s main character, and the new website shows images of some familiar faces. I wonder how that’s going to work out. There’s a social aspect, but that has not been revealed yet.Â
