While only loosely related to videogames in the vaguest sense, it’s too amazing to fully ignore. Sega Toys, a branch of Sega Sammy, is partnering with Neurosky to createthought-controlled toys. Neurosky’s technology allows the user’s brainwaves to interact with the toys, and Sega wants to help make such a horrifying cyber-nightmare come to life. Neurosky had this to say:

With our ThinkGear™ bio-sensor technology and innovative capacity of SEGA TOYS, our collaboration with SEGA TOYS will empower consumers to intimately interact with or control a toy, using their mind.”
Without a trace of sensationalism, I hereby propose that this means theEND OF THE WORLD, since an army of thought-controlled immortal plastic supersoldierswill definitelytake over Earth as a result of this. At first we shall bow to the whims of a human dictator, but the toys will become self aware, that they might overthrow their fleshy master and the entire world shall be likeToy Storyexcept instead of charming banter between a cowboy and a spaceman, there will just be blood. Lots and lots of blood. And like, some people being sick as well. Blood and sick.
