Well, it’s obvious now that 2K Sports is going to continue copying ESPN’s “This is SportsCenter” commercials. Remember how the first skit, “Lefty,” aped a specific ESPN ad (“The Closer”)? I couldn’t find the specific ESPN analog of this skit, but I feel like I’ve seen one before. Either way, I guess ESPN can’t sue for copyright infringement or anything, since I don’t think it’s possible to patent a style of advertising — but seriously, how can anyone who watches this videonotimmediately think of ESPN’s famous ad campaign?In any case, this thirty-second sketch falls into the same category of humor as the first one — that is, “mildly amusing” — and it’s ultimately forgettable, if you ask me. But I suppose that at least some people will enjoy these snippets of quote-unquote comedy and remember them come March, when they decide betweenMLB 2K9and Sony’sMLB 09 The Show.Strangely, the end of the video says that the release date is March 2nd, whereas the second teaser trailer for the game (which was released on the same day) says March 3rd.
