As we saw earlier this week,Saints Row: The Thirdwill not be including a multiplayer option, instead pouring its efforts into the single-player and co-op features. According to THQ, this was due to consumer demand for co-op, making it far more important than competitive modes.

“The majority of people wanted the single-player and co-op experience, so we’re focusing on blowing that out of the water,” said senior producer Greg Donovan inGame Informer. “We want this cohesive experience where players walk away going ‘I can’t believe I’m seeing this. I can’t believe I’m f*cking doing this.'”

I’m personally glad that the multiplayer has been cast aside. I was never that into it, and have always come toSaints Rowfor the single-player stuff. It’s rare to see a developer favor the main campaign over multiplayer these days, so I encourage Volition efforts with a big thumbs-up!
