So look, Activision is going to releaseanotherCall of Dutythis year. We all know this as a truth, like the sun rising and Jim Sterling making inappropriate comments on the Internet. We also know it’s likelyModern Warfare 3, as rumors have suggested andrecent print magazineteasing seemingly confirmed. No one, I’d imagine, is shocked.
Eurogameris now reporting that internal sources at UK retailer Tesco have spotted a “Call of Duty: Project Colossus” in its database. The title is dated for November 8, which also shouldn’t be shocking considering that’s around the same time Activision releasesevery other Call of Duty title ever in existence.
Activision will be holding its investors call this afternoon, and it’s expected we’ll hear more about their fallCall of Duty(“Fall of Duty”?) plans. We may also hear more about the previously discussed“Project Beachhead,”which is likely not aCall of Duty Onlinegame as some reports have suggested; the publisher has been pretty clear about Beachhead being some sort of online content delivery and management system for the series.
Let me also leave this here: we’ve heard from various sources that Electronic Arts is planning to position the release of its upcomingBattlefield 3as a direct competitor to the nextCall of Dutygame. If what we’re hearing is correct, we’re talking the same day release here, folks. The line on this warzone is about to get drawn; prepare to choose your side.
