The PlayStation 2 version ofRock Bandhas shipped and will be up for purchase from your store of choice starting tomorrow. Great news for those of you without a PlayStation 3 or an Xbox 360, right? Sort of.
We’ve alreadybeen warned aboutthe amount of features that will be missing from the PS2 version of the otherwise rocktastic game. From a slimmed down “Band World Tour” mode to a lack of character customization, online modes, and download content, PS2 owners are really getting the shaft with this release.
If you’ve got no plans to purchase any of the newer consoles or you want to make use of all your extra PlayStation 2 guitar controllers, then I suppose a purchase can be justified. Just don’t go into the PS2 port ofRock Bandexpecting the same experience you’d be getting had you of gotten the game for Xbox 360 or PS3.
