WhenFallout 3‘s level cap was increased by way of the “Broken Steel” add-on, I don’t think anyone complained. It seemed like there was almost a universal desire for the cap to be raised, which makes me wonder, why won’t Bethesda let us go past level 30 with the “Mothership Zeta” downloadable content?

As it turns out,MTV Multiplayer was ableto ask Jeff Gardiner, the lead producer onFallout 3DLC, what he thought of such a proposal. “I know from the outside this seems like a fairly simple proposition,” he says, “but doing this could unbalance the game in a variety of ways.”

“We’re very happy that people enjoyFallout 3so much that they want to keep playing it, and I’m sure we’ll look into addressing these concerns in future games.” I see what he’s getting at. Once you’ve spent enough time in the wastelands, your character becomes overpowered to the point where nothing can touch you.

As dumb as it may sound, earning experience points keeps me motivated and helps me become invested in a game, so I really do hope thatFallout: New VegasandFallout 4, whenever that happens, allow for higher character levels.
