Quick Hit Football, the free-to-playfootball strategy RPG, has secured a multi-year licensing deal with the National Football League. The agreement will see the 32 NFL team names as well as their logos and uniforms — along with the logos for the Super Bowl, Pro Bowl, NFC, and AFC — make their way to the browser-based football game this fall. The last timeMaddencame out for the PC was2007, so this makesQuick Hitthe first officially licensed football game on the platform in three years.

Hans Schroeder, Vice President of Media Strategy and Development at the NFL, praised the partnership as “a key part of our goal to expand and enrich the online experience for NFL fans throughout the year.” That the NFL is willing to lend its license to a social game such asQuick Hitreally underscores the recent rise of social gaming. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but it would seem to come dangerously close to violating EA Sports’ deals with the NFL and the NFL Players Association, which grants the publishing giant “exclusive rights for action simulation, arcade-style and manager games on the PC, handheld game devices and consoles”through February 2013.
