According to the mysteriously-namedPlaystation Blog, Michael Shorrock, the Director of Third Party Relations at SCEA, has announced thatGeoff Keighlyhas announced thatRockstar Gameshas announced an exclusive, brand new franchise for the PS3. Rockstar has mentioned before that the 360 gave the company some considerable challenges due to the lack of disc storage capacity and how poor people aren’t required to get a hard drive, so itcomes as no shockthat they would want to “make a game that you can truly only do on the Playstion 3…”
The game isNOT LA Noire, but a completely original, previously-unannounced franchise. This is going to go a long way in silencing the rumors of theGTA-makers preference towards Microsoft’s console due to the exclusive episodic content and Rockstar spokesman Hosi Simon’srecent commentsregarding which version ofGTAIVconsumers should pick up.
No matter what happens, whether this game is the nextMidnight Clubor an arbitrary disappointment likeBully,Red Dead Revolver,State of Emergency,Manhunt, or theWarriors, fanboys are going to mark this one down as a major victory. It is, considering Xbox 360 gets a few sporadic episodes and Sony gets, you know, awhole game, but the one thing the world doesn’t need is more Chad Wardens. Or Mexicans.
