Like all good franchises that go into multiple forms of mediaPrince of Persiaisnow a comic book. It’s a book-length graphic novel written byPrince of Persiacreator Jordan Mechner. It’s illustrated by a solid whose who of the comic world with six different artists working on the book. Bernard Chang, Tommy Lee Edwards, Tom Fowler, Niko Henrichon, David Lopez, and Cameron Stewart all took part and the cover was done by Todd McFarlane.

As you probably guessed, the comic was made to help promote the upcoming film, and fills in information on what was going on before the movie starts. Thanks to the fact that it is written by the man who createdPrince of Persiait also relates back to the original 1989 game as well. Mechner promises he will be delivering a post on how in the near future.

I think it’s awesome that Mechner has had control over his creation throughout all of its forms and it’s one of the things that makes me believe that thePrince of Persiamoviewon’t entirely suck.
