One look at PopCap’sshiny, blatantly colorful homepageand I still wince out of habit, for it all seems so CASUAL. Yes, I know, I cast it around like a dirty word, but you’ll forgive me if I admit I don’t always relate to the casual gamer, usually because’s she’s 40 years older than me and clicking away in her cubicle. Except if I take a few minutes to playPeggleorDynomite, everything goes black and I wake up six hours later, still clicking and loving every minute of it. What just happened?

Perhaps I have to admit, this crippling weakness to certain types of casual games does exist (Puzzle Questbeing the worst one for me personally). That being said, the first screen of PopCap’s upcoming tower defense/strategy titlePlants vs. Zombieshas me thinking I’m heading straight for one of my casual blackout sessions again, more likely sooner than later.

Of course, the picture is all we have right now, so there isn’t much to speculate on, but it’s proof that it’s coming, right? If it can finally break up my seemingly endlessPixeljunk: Monstershabit, then more power to it. Bring it on, PopCap!
