Some years ago now,Penny Arcadedecided to put their piles of smug money where their snarky mouths were and produce a series of episodic role-playing games in a Lovecraft-meets-noir-detective setting. After two episodes were developed by Hothead Games, the series came to a premature end with the cancellation of the series. The conclusion of the story would be told in a series of written posts over several months, but there would be no more games.

Today, it has been announced thatOn the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darknesswill see its third episode after all. Zeboyd Games, the indie developer behindCthulhu Saves the WorldandBreath of Death VII(as well as the organizer of the Xbox Live Indie “Uprising” collaborations) has been tapped to develop the title in the style of a 16-bit RPG.
