Ubisoft has announced that the upcoming PC version ofAssassin’s Creedwill finally be available at retail this March.

Although late, the PC version of the title is not just any oldAssassin’s Creed. No, no — this one is theAssassin’s Creed: Director’s Cut Edition, which features four brand new exclusive types of investigations. There’s no word on what these new investigation types will be; the console versions feature things like pickpocketing, various informer missions, eavesdropping, and smacking around dudes in back alleys for information.  (Which is not as naughty as it sounds.)

One of the biggest issues many people had with the game when it hit consoles was the lack of game variety. I just recently pushed throughAssassin’s Creedon the Xbox 360, and despite the lack of things to actually do, scaling the various locations of the Third Crusade was reasonably entertaining. I’m not sure if slapping on a few extra investigation types will change anyone’s mind on the lack of variety, but it’s a nice extra for PC gamers who’ve been patient this long.

Wait a minute … no one is going to be able to play this! Have you seen thespecs for this monster?!?
