If the thirdTomb Raidermovie actually happens, shooting will begin in 2010 and the movie could be released sometime in 2011. Seeing as how Angelina Jolie is busy pumping out babies left and right, Megan Fox makes for a perfect replacement. She’s got a great body, a nice ass and she can totally pull off Lara’s ponytail too....

An RPG in my PS3? As unlikely as it sounds, it looks like Sega has decided to give it a shot, much to the pleasure of the RPG-starved owners of the console. The title will be released in Japan asValkyria of the Battlefield: Gallian Chroniclesand promises a “fresh new take” on the traditional RPG. While I believe that about as much as I believePhil Harrison left Sonywithout frustrations, I have to admit it looks awfully pretty at the very least....

Surprise surprise.Modern Warfare 2is getting a midnight launch. Best Buy has today announced that it will be supporting Infinity Ward’s latest chart dominator with midnight launches around the country, and is inviting TV crews and photographers to come along and give them free publicity. Infinity Ward may not bewinning any fanswith the PC gaming crowd, but it seems that the studio could release a statement tomorrow that said, “Anyone who buys our game is a f*cking spastic and we think everybody who’s ever supported us is a pedo,” and the game would still be the biggest of the year....

Ah, the game that started it all. Well, it really didn’t; — that honor goes to NES titlesMetal Gearand personal favorite,Snake’s Revenge. But the PlayStation’sMetal Gear Solidsold millions of copies and recieved heavy praise from the gaming community. Its popularity bumped the franchise up there with the other big ones, and it helped Solid Snake became a gaming icon. Many people would claim that it was the Wii that truly cracked the mainstream audience and brought gaming to a whole new demographic. However, those are people who inhabitreality,and not the bizarre fantasy realm that Sony executives live in while they lick hallucinogenic toads and quaff vast amounts of LSD. According to Kaz Hirai it’s the PS2, not the Wii, that brought gaming to the general public. “The most successful console is still the PS2 and it’s still going strong,” claims Hirai, comparing a console released nine years ago to a console released three years ago....

The first day’s kill totals are out, and as you can see above, the soldier is currently ahead by 99,209 kills. GOOD JOB MEN. Overall, there have been 2,681,005 kills between these two classes ALONE in the last 16 hours. Every server I played on last night was filled with soldiers and demomen going at it. Lots of fun, although I understand the pain of people who just want to get in and play a regular game without eating 8 rockets to the face at once....

[When I think of games that let us escape, I usually think of eighty hour RPGs or games with really deep mechanics. For the past two episodes, I have railed against publishers and their war on used games. In the concluding part, I praise those tactics that I do not find obnoxious, and would like to see further encouraged. Rather than punish used gamers, companies need to reward new ones. Pretty simple … you’d think. These were pretty fun to do, especially as it’s a subject I take very personally. Hope you enjoyed the episodes, anyway....
