Electronic Arts has announced the soundtracks for its fall lineup of EA Sports titles, which includesMadden NFL 10,FIFA 10,NHL 10, andNBA Live 10. As expected, it’s a lot of damned music, representing what you’ll be listening to when you tackle, dribble, and check things this fall. The soundtracks are pretty diverse, from artists like Slipknot to Pete Rock, Rancid to Murs. TheFIFA 10soundtrack is particularly interesting, made up of artists that represent the global music scene....

If you own an iPhone and enjoy tower defense, you may have already spent some quality time withCrystal Defenders, but if you’ve merely peered at someone else’s copy being played and found yourself wishing you had an phone to play it on, your time has come. Square-Enix has announced that they will be releasing the title to WiiWare, XBLA and PSN this year. The WiiWare version will be calledCrystal Defenders R1and is slated for a Japanese release on January 27th, priced at 1,000 Wii points, and will include Wi-Fi support....

I’ll admit that I was turned off by the announcement ofSuper Street Fighter IV. I suppose I’ve become a bit update-expectant in this age of downloads. But after reading a few previews and listening to Capcom’s Seth Killian speak on the latest episode of 1UP’s “4 Guys 1 Up,” I’ve become convinced that a full disc release is a good thing. New characters like Juri, T-Hawk, and Deejay won’t be the sole additions to this latestSFtitle — Capcom is also rebuilding and perhaps even fixing several components....

A remake/reboot of theSyndicateserieshas been rumoredto be under development by Electronic Arts for a good long while now. A developer has told us that one of his company’s games — a title with similar gameplay concepts to popular puzzle gameTetris— has been pulled from the Android Market. This dev received an email that said that their game was suspended from Android Market due to a violation of the Developer Content Policy. They note that there’s no reference to “Tetris” in their game. Wanting to get to the bottom of this, this developer contacted Google....

Yesterday, we told you abouta 12-year-old boy who committed suicideafter his parents banned him from gaming. The most curious aspect of the story was the fact that Thailand’s overbearing Ministry of Health didnotuse the death as an excuse to exercise more of its heavy-handed control over the country’s games industry, as it usually does whenever game-themed violence appears.
