Well, we’ve finally got some news on it — and there are some very interesting tidbits to be had. Rumortoid: Max Payne 3 being developed by Rockstar

Electronic Gaming Monthly’srumormonger Quartermannhas caught windthat Remedy Entertainment may not be the guys developing the nextMax Payne. He seems to think that Remedy may have their hands too full ofAlan Wakeand have given the title to the same internal Rockstar team that handled the development forThe Warriors. I was under the impression thatAlan Wakehad gone the way ofDuke Nukem Forever, which means that instead of developing the title, Remedy is sitting around talking about donuts and tossing around ideas forMax Paynetheme parks....

Rumortoid: Xbox 360 pro being phased out?

At the time of writing, the Xbox 360 has three SKUs officially on the market — the HDD-less Arcade, the 60GB Pro and the 120GB Elite. If fresh intel is reliable, however, it seems that Microsoft will be literally cutting out the middle man, removing the Xbox 360 pro from its lineup. Kotakuwas handed a photo of some new Xbox 360 packaging that contains no details on the 360 Pro. Previous packaging listed the various SKU options, telling customers what they can get out of the Arcade, Pro or Elite....

Samurai Warriors Chronicles get first DLC

Samurai Warriors Chronicleshas received its first downloadable content in the form a new free stage, Battle of Ariokajou. It’s the first of several free levels that Tecmo Koei plans to release. The DLC map should automatically download for anybody with Spotpass enabled in the wireless options menu. Downloaded stages are played in the “Gaiden” section of the campaign’s chapter selection screen. I’m not seeing it myself, so we in the West may be waiting a little while for it....

Scraps: Wait, was E3 last week or something? (7/21/08)

With E3 behind us, I did some reflection and realized that I felt I hadn’t really played that many games while in Los Angeles. Polling some fellow “journalists” (many of which are actually respectable), it seems I wasn’t alone. I’m not sure that I like E3. I’m glad it’s over, and I’m glad to be back with you fine normal folks. The videogame industry is full of a bunch of God damned weirdos, let me tell you....

Wait, what? That’s right. Sega hasn’t had a real console since the deceased Dreamcast, but here we are in 2010 and the company has stormed back into the console wars with a worthy rival to Nintendo’s dominating Wii system. Well, not really, but itisa home console (in a way) and itdoeshave motion control (after a fashion). The Sega Zone Wireless Gaming Console is one of those silly retro all-in-one deals, packed as it is with twenty classic Genesis titles includingSonic the Hedgehog,Alex KiddandGolden Axe....

I’ve been keeping an eye onShining Force Featherever since Jimgot a gander at itduring the Tokyo Game Show, and my diligence was rewarded with a new trailer this morning which shows off many of the characters in the game. As usual, I’m loving the character art (and figure it won’t be too long before there are collectiblefiguresof at least half of these characters). The game comes out this month in Japan, so let’s hope the English version won’t be too far away....

Silent Hill: Homecoming slips to 2009 release in Europe

Oh that’s bullsh*t. It was bad enough when I found out thatSilent Hill: Homecomingwasn’t due to launch in Europe until November, but now it’s become known that Konami’s latest horror extravaganzawon’t be arrivinguntil February 2009. No reason has been given for the date slip, but the title will now be in almost direct competition with Capcom’sResident Evil 5,which is bloody ridiculous. Hopefully that doesn’t mean the game is due for an even later release to avoid such a scenario, but at this rate, who knows?...

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories art and logo surface

Like it or not,Silent Hill: Shattered Memoriesfor the Wii is being made, and fans of the series are waiting to find out more about what the game will be like. As a quick refresher in case you don’t live and breathe all things Silent Hill like I do, the game is a “reimagining” of the first Silent Hill and stars Harry Mason. That’s supposed to be him in the art you see above, but what I see is more like a man caught somewhere between a heart attack and an epic case of the sh*ts....
