At a Q&A session today at the Tokyo Game Show, Fumito Ueda said that he wanted to clarify some things he had been hearing on the internet about his latest title,The Last Guardian.He said that some have speculated about the game’s ending from the trailer they shared at last year’s show. It seems that many were quick to assume that the game would have a sad ending. WhileIcoandShadow of the Colossusmay have had darker endings, Ueda says thatThe Last Guardianis open so far, and it may not have as sad of an ending by the time it is all said and done....

The Last Storyis looking set to be a big deal in Japan, as it has been revealed that there will be bother a Wii bundle and a special edition when the game releases next year. The bundle includes a copy of the game, a white Wii, and a white Classic Controller Pro. The special edition is the tastier prospect, coming as it does with a copy of the game (obviously), and anElements of The Last Story“visual book” that includes a mini soundtrack....

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Cutscenes in videogames are very rarely, if ever, interactive. Most of the time all the player is required to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the drama unfolding on the screen. Even when interaction is evident, like pushing a sequence of buttons when prompted or controlling the camera, it is usually purely aesthetic and very rarely affects the actual gameplay or story. Granted, most videogames are forced to lead the player to a scripted conclusion (the game would never end otherwise) and don’t really have the means to offer any kind of drastic choices; but, once a while, a designer will come along and attempt to shake up this common structure a bit....
