About freaking time. After months and monthsof rumors and speculation, we finally have documented proof of the existence ofSyndicateas developed by Starbreeze. Superannuation found not one, but three filings made last year with the US Copyright Office, naming the title, as well as Starbreeze and Electronic Arts. It’s a thing. For real. I love the setting and themes inSyndicate. The cyberpunk thing just gets my gears turning in a big way and very few games have been able to convey the proper grit and grime of that genre better than this series....

We know that Apple has their big conference scheduledto hit right when we’re at E3 this year, but new rumors say that they won’t be announcing the new hardware then. Everyone’s expecting an iPhone 5 announcement but new word from sources says that we’ll see Apple’s new update in September. Instead we’ll see a focus on iOS 5 and Mac OS X 10.7, says the source. From what they say, this new iPhone will see only “slight modifications” from the iPhone 4....

Metal Gear Solid 4producer and Kojima Productions alumni Ryan Payton is rumored to have been snapped up by Microsoft to work on the fabledHalo Chronicles. According toThe Beautiful One, Payton is to be the creative director forChronicles. The source of this Rumortoid is, of course, anonymous and mysterious, which means that we’ll have to wait for any official announcements before we gettooexcited. On Sunday evening at TNA’sHard JusticePay-Per-View, I watched Sanjay Dutt — dressed in a tuxedo — wrestle another man that he was chained to. The match, from the jeers and chants of “boring” from the crowd, was underwhelming. So I’m not sure how I feel about the announcement that Sanjay Dutt will be included in the roster of wrestlers in Midway’s upcomingTNA iMPACT!for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. In fact, because I don’t experience I have with the guy (because I don’t really follow wrestling) is that one, snore-inducing match....

Yesterday, we were given this new trailer forSerious Sam HD. I’ll say this for the game, it sure looks a whole lot better thanSerious Samdoes now. Not exactly high praise, but there it is. I suspect the success of this game is going to be down to nostalgia factor. Of course, I could be wrong.Serious Samis an excellent game for hardcore twitch shooter fans, what with the constant flood of enemies....

As if you couldn’t have guessed, the release ofFinal Fantasy VIIIon the PSN’s PSOne Classics channel has been met with enthusiasm by spend-happy gamers, rushing to the top of the PSN chart. The PSN top ten chart is full of PSOne Classics, in fact, demonstrating that high-end graphics and “next gen” technology simply can’t beat a well-made product.
