If you’re still on the fence aboutGuitar Hero: Metallica, Activision is doing its best to make you decision today. The publisher has announced that a demo for the game will be available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace today. The demo will include four tracks: Metallica’s “Sad But True” and “Seek and Destroy,” as well “No Excuses” by Alice in Chains and “Stone Cold Crazy” by Queen. It also features one venue, “The Forum,” as well as single-player and band quickplay, head-to-head, Face-Off, Pro Face-Off and Battle gameplay modes....

While some of us are excited aboutanother racing game, I still have love for Gran Turismo. I’m really looking forward to the Spec 2.0 update, set to drop later this month. The point of this on-rails shooter appears to be to shoot brown people … streams and streams of brown people. It’s basically House of the Dead with contemporary terrorists, set in a war-torn part of the world....

Earlier today,we reported thata few Hudson games for 3DS —Bomberman,Bonk, andOmega Five— had been dropped. But, that might not be the case, exactly. “If (the announcement) didn’t come from us, it’s not true. We have not distributed any official list of Hudson products yet,” a Konami representative told Wired. The original talk of cancellation stemmed fromFamitsu, which removed the aforementioned titles and other Hudson games from its release list. Now that Konamihas controlof Hudson, it sounds like the games — the ones that survive, anyway — simply need to be announced a second time....

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but come this August, Japanese gamers will be receiving an updated, more difficult version ofUltimate Ghosts N’ Goblinsfor the Sony PSP. Trading Standards authorities in Plymouth haveconducted a retail stingin which 16-year old boys were able to purchase copies of 18-rated games, along with knives from a selection of retailers. Adult-rated movies are not indicated as having been included in this operation. For some reason. According to the results, five out of nine retailers sold “violent” games to underage buyers, while a mere two out of twenty five retailers sold them knives....

Namco Bandai is hoping to sharpen your mind with Kinect, while also bringing an old pal to Microsoft’s console using the motion control device. In advance of next week’s Tokyo Game Show, Namco Bandai has revealed a new brain training game for Kinect for Xbox 360. The man behind the game might look familiar to Nintendo DS owners — it’s Dr. Ryuta Kawashima, the face of Nintendo’s successfulBrain Trainingseries. Kawashima served as an advisor on the title, which will be a mash-up of motion and puzzle mini-games....
