According to a recent release put out by Focus Multimedia, the company isoffering up a discount onUbisoft’s PC-exclusive release ofAssassin’s Creed,dubbedAssassin’s Creed Director’s Cut Edition, for £9.99 in the UK. This extended cut features four “exclusive” investigation missions: Rooftop Race Challenge, Archer Stealth Assassination Challenge, Assassin Escort, and Merchant Stand Destruction Challenge. Steam owners should be familiar with this, consideringit was released in 2008and has been subject toa Steam sale or two....

D3 Publisher has released the trailer announcing the impending arrival ofOnechanbara Z Kagurafor Xbox 360. The zombie-slashing Cheesecake Factory, Aya is back for another round and you can see her gearing up for combat against a variety of vicious beasts. There are also gratuitous flashes of bare flesh because this isOnechanbara, after all. The lastOnechanbarahad a lot of problems but the setting is so kooky and weird that I’ll still give it another chance if it looks like some lessons were learned....

We’ve been chatting with Bizarre Creations, the studio hard at work on the powered-up racing gameBlur. The game looks like it could draw people that don’t usually follow racers, and I wanted to ask for Bizarre’s opinion on the state of the genre as a whole, whether the studio feels a shot in the arm is necessary for racing games to progress. Yesterday, Blizzard was awarded a summary judgement against MDY Industries, LLC, makers of the popular grind-bot program,Glider.Drawing on a 1993 ninth circuit decision in the case of MAI Systems Corp. v. (where it was decided that a copy of software loaded into RAM constitutes a legal copy for the purposes of copyright), the court agreed with Blizzard’s assertion that theGliderprogram violates copyright by making alterations to theWorld of Warcraftsoftware after it is loaded....

While a lot of anticipated games are announcing release dates in 2011, it’s always nice to be reminded that some titles are still coming this year. Titles likeCastlevania: Lords of Shadow, the latest 3D entry in the popular action series. According to PS3 Vault, Konami has slated the game for release this coming October. Here’s our very first look at EA’s upcoming survival horror game,Dead Space. The trailer shows the main character as the last man left on a destroyed space ship. Of course, you’re not alone on the ship. Some kind of monsters (just because it’s in space doesn’t mean they’re aliens!) are on the ship with you and want to hug you — to death.I real like what I see so far. Survival horror games aren’t done too often in space (last one I can think of isDino Crisis 3) and I hope there is some sort of Zero-G fighting....
