Above, you can check out a second gameplay trailer for 2K Sports’NBA 2K9(if you missed the first one, it’s righthere). It features a wide assortment of NBA teams (though my hometown Knicks only get a second or two). The middle of the trailer shows Denver Nuggets point guard Allen Iverson getting repeatedly repelled as he goes up for a lay-in, and the latter half focuses on Los Angeles Clippers point guard Baron Davis doing all kinds of crazy things....

AChinese bloghas caused a stir by posting photographs thatapparentlyprove the existence of a slim PS3. This “evidence” comes a day after Sonyemphatically deniedany and all rumors that such a PS3 was in the works, proving that nobody ever listens to a thing these game companies say anymore. There are certainly plenty of photos, but until Sony itself makes the announcement (that will probably come sooner or later), we’ll run this with due skepticism....

Sony has announced today that they are dropping the price of the PSPgo handheld in the United States and Japan. Just in time for the holiday season, you’ll be able to pick up the digital download-supported device for $199 (or 16,800 yen). With Sony’s track record of releasing new iterations of the PSP, coupled with the lackluster support that they’ve shown the PSPgo after its launch, this is still too much for me to pay....

Despite the iPhone being better than the PSP, Sony has used its obnoxious little pet Marcus to make fun of the system (again) for having terrible games. The irony, in case you couldn’t tell, is almost eye-scorching in its amazing lack of self-awareness. The very fact that Marcus exists is proof that Sony will always give the PSP a raw deal. The PS3 gets the genuinely funny Kevin Butler, while the PSP getsthisflapping gargoyle of a child....

I’m a sucker for downloadable game sales. I’m never happy with the full price, so when the cut comes, I find myself dropping money on points to catch up. The 2010 Summer Sale that Sony is throwing has a lot of really good games at about half price (for most). Check out what they have, divided by system: PSP: Minis: Not bad! As promised, Valve released the Steam client for Mac this afternoon. The program is available for free, just like it’s PC brother, and can be downloadedat the official Steam website. you’re able to’t miss the link unless you’re blind. If that’s the case, well, you probably won’t be able to play any of the games Valve announced or even read this post. We’ve yet to enable our Braille feeds. Sorry about that....

Capcom has unveiled new screens and artwork for its upcoming XBLA/PSN gameSuper Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. These new assets show off Blanka, Zangief and Cammy. The three sexiest characters of all. This game generated a lot of attention from gamers last year, but withStreet Fighter IVfirmly in the fighter spotlight, is it a good idea to release this game soon? Maybe last year it had more worth, but I can’t help thinking that releasing bothHD RemixandSF IVso close together is, at the very least, doing a disservice to both titles....

The newStreet Fightertournament has justkicked offwith Blanka and Chun-Li as the first combatants. Blanka shows his true colors (and poor make up job) during the fight as he tries to kill Chun-Li until Ken steps in to save the day. E. Honda and the real Ryu prepare to battle as the episode ends. The New York Department of Criminal Justice has put together a slideshow calledVideo Games and Children: Virtual Playground vs. Danger Zone, and after watching it, you’ll join us in the hopes that non-gaming parents will never see this. Shankis a bad-ass beat-’em-up that aims to be awesome by allowing you to stab bad guys in the spleen in a gnarly manner with a fantastic cartoon art style as fluid as butter. There you have it, my preview ofShank. Sure, it’s short and simple, but I think it exemplifies pretty much exactly whatShankis. If there was ever a side-scrolling Tarantino game, I think this would be it. I mean, really....
