Big Sandwich Games’Hoardhas garnered a fair amount of positive buzz. The studio is bringing this PlayStation Network title to PSP later this month for $9.99. Starting on March 22, you’ll be able to play as a dragon on the go, and do some of the activities dragons are known for (e.g., being a jerk to everyone, everywhere, at all times). For Europe, however, both PSP and PSN versions ofHoardare set to launch in early April....
Homefront‘s “speculative future” narrative about a Korea-occupied America is interesting, but with a heavy focus on multiplayer, there’s always the risk of the story campaign falling by the wayside. In speaking with Kaos Studios’ Dave Votypka, we asked just how much effort is being put into both sections of the game. “From day one we knew that multiplayer needed to be a strong focus for any FPS product coming out of this studio; partially because of the heritage of the talent here, and partially because online gaming is such a flourishing segment of the market,” he tells us....
Our “Indie Nation” series highlights interesting games from the world of independents. Handle With Care, the sequel toPolarisand second game in Robert Yang’sRadiatorseries, came out yesterday. It’s interesting. WherePolarisrevolved around a relatively unusual core mechanic (stargazing) placed inside a wholly believable and unspectacular world,Handle With Careis the exact opposite. I don’t want to saytoomuch in that direction, as much ofHandle With Care‘s charm comes from the sheer audacity of its premise (and not the fact that two of the main characters are gay, which I fear will become a focal point for those who are easily amused or offended)....

This is probably the bestDead Space 2trailer sincethe initial oneway back when. Why is that? Well, we already know protagonist Isaac Clarke will be shooting Necromorphs on the Sprawl; kind of a given at this point, really. But the action-oriented sequences, on the other hand — those are newish and more exciting. My favorite parts of the original game were those in which you were out in space. It was harder to see, the noise was dampened, and the vibe in general was creepier than anything else in the game....

Despite the fact thatTomb Raider Underworldwas released back in 2008, Sideshow Collectibles is still planning on releasing a polystone statue of that game’s version ofLara Croft. Each day the site has updated with a new historical figure on its entrance page and a quote from that figure. Those going to the site could vote up or down on the quote and depending on how they voted the main site would look different. It’s pretty clearly a countdown to Gamescom, but for what we have no idea....
PopCap has launched a new experimental label, named 4th & Battery, that allows its designers to basically go nuts with creative little games. 4th & Battery’s first game,Unpleasant Horse, is now on the iPhone App Storefor free. I’ve given the game a couple of runs over the last two days, and it’s pretty fun and simple. As a goth horse with wings, you simply tap to clouds, birds, and flying ponies to move forward and score points....
