Remember your favorite arcade sports games from the ’90s, likeNBA Jam? Come on, I know even all you sports haters have some fond memories of those classics. Don’t be afraid to admit it! Well, many of those games (I’m speaking particularly withNBA Jamin mind) had cheats available that would enable some pretty crazy sh*t — Hillary Clinton, I’m looking at you. Now, EA Sports is looking to try and awaken the kid in all of us with3 on 3 NHL Arcade....

Eurogamerhas some pretty awesome-sounding details concerning the steampunk adventureEdge of Twilight, due for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. The game is said to be heavily story-driven, with the tale of amoral bounty hunter Lex being “fundamental” to the game. The storyline also aims to truly blur the lines between good and evil, as nothing will be done in the game without some sort of justification for the action, as explained by the developer, Fuzzyeyes:...

I won’t lie here I’m only two minutes into this 20 minutes ofStarCraft IIfootage you’re able to see below and while I am surely impressed I don’t know if I’ll make it all 20. That isn’t to say that the video isn’t exciting and that seeing the Terrans duke it out with the Zergs yet again isn’t awesome, it’s just that 20 minutes of other people playing a game without me being able to yell my “advice” at them is horrible....

The ESRB has launched a new iPhone and Android app that lets you take a snapshot of a game box to bring up ratings information for the title. Just in time for the holiday shopping season, with this app, mom and dad only need to whip out their phone and take a snapshot of the game box to get a ratings summary for the game. They can get the info right there in the store, which sucks for little Timmy as those M ratings are probably going to shut down about half of his wish list....

Another day, another collector’s edition. Although only confirmed for Europe at the moment, this limited edition of Day 1 Studios’F.E.A.R 3does look pretty B.A.D.A.S.S, no matter how sick of opulent collecter packages you may be. After all, it’s the first game to offer aglow-in-the-dark pregnancy. In a move that can diplomatically be described as perverse, Warner Brothers is offering a statue of magic-rapist-turned-pregnant-teenager Alma, complete with a swollen womb that glows in the dark....

Well, that was certainly quick: after a meeting this morning at Codemasters HQ, a patch for F1 2010 has been announced to be in the works. Right now, the development team is currently investigating, going through feedback and looking at reported issues, so we don’t have a timetable for when this will be released. However, it’s very nice to read that they’re taking care of some of the issues affecting the game....

Nintendo of America’s beefburger boss Reggie Fils-Aimehas claimedthat third parties don’t “get” the Wii, and that is why there is a lot of rubbish on the console. “I will be able to say our licensees ‘get it’ when their very best content is on our platform,” explained the savory executive after admitting that third party support is not known for its quality. “And with very few exceptions today, that’s not the case....

In a post on theFinal Fantasy Type-0dev blog today, director Hajime Tabata said that all that remains in the game’s development is tuning and debugging. Nice! As of now it’s done enough to be played. Or demoed, at least.Andriasangsays that the game will be shown off at a Tokyo demo event tomorrow. Players at the event will have access to seven characters: Queen, Rem, Ace, Nine, Machina, King and Scythe. In place of actual multiplayer, where you’d have other players coming into your game to support you in battle, the demo will use the game’s fake multiplayer system....

Warner Bros. Interactive has filed trademarks for “Netherrealm Studios,” likely in connection with whatever studio or team is working on the forthcomingMortal Kombatgame. Netherrealm is among the worlds in theMortal Kombatuniverse, an underworld closely associated with the imagery of Hell. Maybe not the best thing to call your studio. Unless, of course, working in Hell comes with a killer benefits package. If Netherrealm Studios is re-branding of the former Midway team responsible forMortal Kombat, then it hints that Warner is serious about the franchise....

According to studio director Martyn Brown, developer Team 17 should be evaluated based on its latest release — a downloadableWormstitle — instead ofLeisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust. A novel idea considering how dreadful Team 17’s continuation of the classic adventure series was. “I’ll be open as anything.Larrydidn’t turn out great,” Brown toldVideoGamer. “There are reasons why it didn’t turn out great.
