PastandpresentDestructoid editors have talked about how games should be more than simple, mindless fun, and while I wholly appreciate that games can do “more”, I’ve been trying to express my thoughts about “dumb” videogames versus “art” games for a while, because I’m not a fan of the “fun isn’t enough” mentality. This week seemed like a good time to do it, funnily enough. In defending games likeBulletstorm,Gears of WarandGod of War, I make the case that mindless fun is just as valid, if not more so, than most of the “arty” games on the market....

Yes friends, from here on out, Luc Bernard will officially be known as “The Mack”, and he has returned. Ironically, his theme song is not the70’s funk hit by the same name, it’s actuallyWhat’s up doc, can we rock?. As for the game he’s returned with, it’s calledMecho Wars. I love the way it looks, and if the gameplay can keep up, it could be a new favorite. I don’t have an iPhone yet so it will be a little while before I find out myself, but Luc has hinted that the game could come to WiiWare or the DS at some point....

As is the case with most launches, the Wii has donesold outall over Japan. With 400,000 units available to gamers there, every single one was snatched up meaning that there are now over 1 million people in the world playing with their Wii — teehee. Some 400,000 units of the console were available on the console’s December 2 launch day, with 600,000 more units slated to ship in Japan by the end of the year....

Seriously. I have absolutely nothing I can say that would add to this… thing. I’m not even going to bother. Nor am I going to admit that I used to live with the man responsible for it. Do be warned that it gets kind of NSFW, though.
