MotorStorm Pacific Rift getting an ‘update,’ but we call it a ‘patch’

It looks like an update for Sony’s PlayStation 3 racer,MotroStorm Pacific Riftis on its way. Actually, scratch that. When I think “update,” I think significant game additions — new tracks, new cars … something. Perhaps Criterion’s ruined me forever with theirBurnout Paradise updates. This “update” is really more of what we’d call a patch, in that it fixes what amounts to a bunch of “broken” crap inPacific Rift. Like the way the game handles data has been changed, so that it will prevent “Saved Data corruption....

Mysterious Wii adventure game from France

NeoGAF spotted this Wii game that a French developer is working on. After seeing little ofSadnessover the past year, I wouldn’t bet that this game gets released any time soon, if ever, but these screenshots have me hoping. The best way I can sum up this game’s visuals is Guillermo del Toro pouring bleach onIco‘s Yorda, and throwing her in an all new maze of despair. Which sounds way more fun than half the Wii games that have been released so far....

No melee in Fable: The Journey (because it’s on rails)

Peter Molyneux has confirmed that his definitely-not-on-rails gameFable: The Journeywill not feature melee combat, focusing instead on projectile-based magic attacks. Not that this is going to be an on-rails shooter or anything, because it isn’t. Except when it is. Or not. Perhaps. “We could have done melee weapons, but the one thing I hate about melee weapons, and guns as well, is that the human brain is encoded to expect recoil from those things,” said Molyneux, making excuses with trademark convolution....
