There’s finally a Darth Vader Wii Sensor Bar holder. Finally. And it’s Vader himself doing the holding work. Like, when I woke up this morning, I had no idea that the day would end with such a feeling of finality. Completeness. I feel whole and at peace knowing that this product will soon be available in stores. I now have clarity. Will the world be alright? I nod slowly as if to confirm, smugly....
Along with the first in its series of “Hellbook” videos, THQ sent us a mess of information about the weapons and powers that will appear in the upcomingDarksiders. From what we’re told, War will purchase weapons and upgrades by trading souls to Vulgrim, who will equip the horseman with Wrath powers. They all sound terrifying, too — Affliction, Blade Geyser, Immolation, and Stoneskin. I don’t know what any of that stuff means as far as the game is concerned, but my guess is that anything that steps in the way of War is basically f*cked....
When I previewedFist of the North Star: Ken’s Rageat E3, I noted that the game used Japanese voiceovers with English subtitles. I aimed to find out if Japanese voices would be an option in the North American release of the game, but it seems the answer is already with us. Japanophiles will be thrilled to note that the option will indeed be available! The game will hit Europe and North America in Fall 2010....

However, it’s hard to tell how long it will remain free, so you should grab it as soon as possible. Epic War TDoffers traditional tower defense with some shiny graphics and pretty damn long levels on higher difficulties. The turrets show you which enemies they are good against, which is a nice touch....
Since my usual App-hunting grounds are failing me lately, I’m turning to Donut Games yet again for one of its older, perpetually free games. Today’s tip-off isTraffic Rush, yet another of Donut’s throwaway casual titles that’s well worth keeping in your pocket for a dull wait at the train station. The aim of the game is simple — direct traffic through a crossroads and avoid collisions. Swipe cars to speed them up, tap them to make them stop....
Turbo Duckis a neat little App that’s well worth checking out. You control a little toy duck by tilting the iPhone and collect flags before the time runs out. Simple, but a perfect timewaster. It also looks pretty good with some surprisingly nice water effects. Oh, and the duck looks super rad when you use a Turbo. To commemorate setting upnew shop in Venice, Gallery 1988 has put together an art show many of you will get a kick out of. It’s been dubbed Multiplayer, and the art in question is as rad as it is nostalgic. The chaps at I-Mockery were there to snap some pictures of the event. Atmosfear is the best board game series of all time, and this a fact that can be proven with science. I never had Atmosfear II as a kid (we had The Harbingers) but every now then I get bored and check out old footage of the VHS tapes on Youtube and watching Baron Samedi makes me almost wish that was the version of the game I had. A zombie demanding lip service is something that deserves respect....
Dementium: The Wardwas the first game by the folks at Renegade Kid. It was an impressive first outing for the company — they were able to make a great first-person shooter and survival horror game on the Nintendo DS, of all platforms. Renegade Kid’s third offering for the DS brings us back to the world ofDementium, and I got a taste of the next chapter in this creepy series last night....
Tucked away at the very back of the Barker Hangar at this year’s new and “improved” E3 was a small section dedicated to some upcoming indie games. From my little play time with a handful of these gems, I must say that some of them were miles more original and promising than most of the high profile games being displayed front and center on the show floor. One of the indie titles that stood out the most wasBraid, an odd (but completely engrossing) puzzle/action/platformer hybrid starring a guy in a business suit on a quest to save a princess in a wide variety of fantasy worlds....
After playing the much-discussedAliens vs. Predatordemo, the first thing I did was laugh at just how hilariously violent it was. Within a minute of playing as a Marine, I had a Xenomorph’s tail spear me in the back and come out of my chest. As an Alien, I’ve stabbed people in the eyes with my fingers, speared them in the head with my tongue, and chopped other Aliens’ face off....
Indie designer Nathan Fouts is unsure ifGrapple Buggyis launching as an Xbox LIVE Arcade title or as an Indie Game. It’s probably driving him nuts not knowing, but it hasn’t stalled development.Grapple Buggyis still coming and regardless of distribution method, it’s a title to keep on your radar (especially if you have a soft spot for retro). Grapple Buggyhas the swinging mechanics ofBionic Commandoand a mapping system reminiscent ofSuper Metroid. Call itBiontroidor whatever; it doesn’t matter: from whatwe played of it in June, it seems to be a solid platformer....
