The level cap blues might not set in for the frag-masters of Rapture. 2K Games is set to bump up the volume of BioShock 2’s MP component with “Sinclair Solutions Test Pack,” the first substantial piece of DLC to hit the game. It adds, in brief, new weapon upgrades, new masks, new rewards, new characters and additional ranks. Announced this afternoon, the pack will hit Xbox LIVE and Games for Windows LIVE at a 400 Microsoft price point....

A special collector’s edition forCastlevania: Lords of Shadowhas been inadvertently outed by a Mexican retailer. North American retailers had made mention of the collector’s edition, but had not revealed what it looked like. If you were curious, here it is! Lords of Shadow‘s collector’s edition contains an art book and a soundtrack CD, all wrapped up in a neat little package. The game is due out for release this October and is being headed up by Kojima Productions....
After reading the results of the studyconducted by East Carolina University’s Psychophysiology Lab, I feel a bit better about wasting my life away playing all the little casual games that our PCs, phones, and other devices enable. It seems that playing these casual games, like PopCap’sPeggleorBejeweled, can amp up your cognitive function. Dr. Carmen Russoniello, Director of the Psychophysiology Lab and Biofeedback Clinic at ECU, says that there’s a possible future for these types of games to be prescribed to stave off Alzheimer’s disease and other dimentia-type disorders....

You may not have known it, but Konami has recently published a newContraGame. Japan, Europe and Australia have already been enjoying the newContra ReBirthon WiiWare — some since May, and now it’s finally our turn to fight over the spread gun. The game has been confirmed to be headed to WiiWare in the US on Monday, September 7th, priced at 1000 Wii points. It will feature local 2-player co-op and two unlockable characters, and sports a stylized new look that still manages to match the classic visuals of the series....
If there’s one game that has consistently managed to have great DLC released for it,Burnout Paradisewould have to be my pick. Criterion is continuing to crank out new expansions,announcinga “Cops and Robbers Pack” on their site. The new expansion will bring “the thrills and spills of cops and robbers car chases in Paradise City.” Police chases aren’t exactly new to the series, but we haven’t seen them sinceBurnout 2, and there have been several iterations between then and now....
Continuing on with the EA financials call news this afternoon, EA confirms thatCrysis 2has been pushed back into late 2011. We were supposed to see it later this year, right in time for the holidays. Now it looks like it’s going to be Q4 of FY2011. I wonder what the hold-up is. Hopefully that recently announced addition of 3D visuals isn’t holding things up. D3Publisher is really hamming up the whole Matt Hazard thing. In just a few weeks, the publisher will shipEat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazardfor the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game follows the exploits of a fictional “legendary” videogame character, its tongue firmly planted in its cheek as it pokes fun at staples of the games industry. This publisher has now announced that a “classic” Matt Hazard title is rumored to be coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network later this summer....
Even though Hothead’sThe Baconingis part of a big PlayStation Network promotion this summer, that’s not stopping it from coming to Xbox Live Arcade. A day after it launches on PSN.
