I have said this before and I’ll say it again: I love how so many games are pushing the post-apocalyptic setting these days.Metro 2033takes it one step further by throwing in the element of a harsh Russian winter, rather than opting for the dull shades of brown found in most other games.

To accompany some previews of the game from outlets other than us, quite a few new screenshots have made themselves available. I figured they’d be worth sharing regardless, so enjoy!

It’s disappointing that we haven’t really seen much of the mutants yet — if you look closely, you can see some in these pictures. Kind of. I get the feelingMetro 2033will be enjoyed by many for its fairly unique setting, but will ultimately be hurt by technical issues.

Then, a bunch of dedicated modders will swoop in, clean things up, and there will be much rejoicing.
