Despite the fact that the company is on the rocks, Midway still has enough change hidden in the sofa to piece together a brand newMortal Kombat. Apparently, selling anMKtitle with a T-Rating was actually enough to make some real money, and Ed Boon has confirmed that a new game is underway.
“Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universewas the result of countless hours of hard work by many people, and seeing the game surpass the million-seller plateau makes it worth all the effort,” said Boon, confirming thatMK vs. DChas shipped around 1.8 million units. “We’re already hard at work on our next version ofMortal Kombat, and look forward to being able to reveal more details in the future.”
Hopefully it’ll be a realMortal Kombatand not a wacky crossover this time. I say that as if I have any kind of vested interest whatsover, when I really don’t. I’m suresomebodycares enough though, and it is for them that I write this.
