This wholeNBA Elite 11debacleis certainly all over the place. Not only has it pretty much pointed towards EA not releasing a stalwart of their gaming line-up and losing a ton of money, but it’s totally messed withNBA Jamon the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. However, now it looks like it’s messed with it for the better.

During a recentradio interview(25:50 is where the relevance starts) the game’s creative director, Trey Smith, said that the delay ofNBA Elite 11caught theNBA Jamteam off guard, but now that they are getting their own release instead of being a free download withElite, they are “doing everything in our power to get as much on there as possible.” This means that the Wii-exclusive “Remix Tour” mode will now be coming to the PS3/360 versions, and makes it more likely that the game will actually be getting a full retail release.

TheNBA Jamteam seems to be scrambling to put this all together, so it isn’t clear how much will actually get into the complete game (or if it’s retail or download), but this does mean that the Wii version is sure to see a significant decline in sales while people wait it out for the HD version of the game, now that it is almost assuredly just as complete — if not more so thanks — to the inclusion of online play.
