Every year,TIMEmagazine compiles a list of the “100 Most Influential People in the World.” Out of the 204 nominations this year, readers can vote on who they want to be in the final 100. After getting over my depression thatNiero,Summa, orRon Workmandid not make the cut (they were robbed!), I quickly perked up once I saw that Shigeru Miyamoto (famed creator ofMario,Donkey Kong, andZelda) made a welcomed appearance.
Miyamoto is an icon in the industry, to say the least, and he definitely deserves a place among the best. It’s just too bad that no other game designers were mentioned. I mean, come on, are you really telling me thatCliffyBis less influential than Paris Hilton? Argh.
As of typing this post, Miyamoto is currently ranked #2 (right behind Stephen Colbert and ahead of J.K. Rowling), but if you want to help him maintain this position,get to voting! Wait — Stephen Colbert, Shigeru Miyamoto,andJ.K. Rowling? DidImake this list? Oh, wait,Judge Marilyn Milianis not #4. Never mind.
