A while back, Insomniac made a somewhatarrogant claimby stating it was flattered thatSuper Mario GalaxyhadRatchet & Clank-inspired spherical worlds. It was a presumptuous statement to make at the time, and now legendaryMariocreator Shigeru Miyamoto has just added both injury and insult by admittinghe has no ideawhatRatchet & Clankeven is.
“It’s not an idea we got from anywhere else,” claimed Nintendo’s resident pixie when asked about the spherical worlds.“I’m sorry but I have to admit that I’ve never seen the game in question. Is it a PC game?”
Ouch, that’s cold. Still, it’s nice to see that one of the most respected games designers in the world doesn’t seem to follow the videogames industry. As for Insomniac, I suggest sending Miyamoto creepy emails and rooting through his garbage. That’s how I used to get attention from women who didn’t know me. Don’t worry, at least half the cases won’t make it to trial.
