Good news for select members of the press — on Monday, July 20th a preview of the forthcoming Xbox 360 NXE update is being pushed to their consoles. Don’t get that jealous, because you might have a chance to check it out, too. On Wednesday, Major Nelson will be hosting a public preview with “select Xbox LIVE community members,” details of which are forthcoming.
So what does the update include? Just about everything Microsoft promised from the huge update at E3, including enhanced Netflix capabilities and the Avatar marketplace. What’s missing is curious, however — integration for Last.fm, Twitter, and Facebook are said to be included in future updates. Just not this one.
It’s unclear whether this is specific to the pre-release preview for press and select members; Microsoft has not revealed when the update will roll out globally. We’ve put word on to Microsoft for clarification.
