Sony has announced that Zipper Interactive’s “OMFG there are 256 people playing at once” first-person shooter,MAG, has gone gold. That’s right, it’s done — the game hits North America on January 26.
More good news is that the beta, called “MAGbeta 5,” is launching tomorrow for everyone North America. Yes, everyone. If you have a PlayStation 3 and an Internet connection, you can simply log in to the PlayStation Network, download the beta file, and then spend the next five hours downloading updates and the actual game files. But it’s worth it, because “OMFG there are 256 people playing at once.”
Those in Asian territories can start playing on December 25, and the European PS Store will receive the file on January 4. The beta will run through January 10, at which point Sony expects you’ll run out and pre-order the game. Right? Right.
