The idea of the Wii dominating all my media needs is a little humorous to me at this point in time, but apparently Japanese TV Networks are seeing that as a possible threat to what they offer audiences. They were already feeling the crunchway back whenas the Wii took people away from watching shows and busy waving their arms about willy-nilly, but with theWii video serviceon the horizon, it may mean even more people forgetting to tune in.

A senior exec at Japan’s biggest television station, Fuju Television, was quoted as saying “if the Wii was able to become the “centrepiece of the living room”, it would be “the stuff of television producers’ nightmares”.

While I feel their pain, I wonder why so much more effort seems to be going into the Wii in Japan while American audiences sit on their cans ( or in the case ofWii Fit, get off them) waiting to see what will happen next. It’s not like the Wii has a sales problem here — why do we get left out?
