I have found that, when it comes to indie games, it’s best to try and have no expectations whatsoever. Impossible, really, when you see a field full of platformers and space shooters but it’s something I that I keep in mind.Icarus Proudbottom in: The Curse of the Chocolate Fountainis a perfect example of why.

I thought this was just going to be a forced-scrolling dodge-em-up. And it is. ButChocolate Fountainis made a little bit deeper through a strange narrative and the introduction of melee combat about a third of the way through. It’s also a 20 minute poop joke.
