What’s this? Vague hints aboutMass Effect 3? Sound the alarms! If I learned anything from yesterday’s rumor about thefranchise getting multiplayerin some capacity, it’s that you folks love to chat about this series — and beyond that, I love reading your thoughts, even if they are sometimesout of control.

OXMcaught up with BioWare’s Casey Hudson, who you’ll probably recognize as BioWare’s main dude for all thingsMass Effect. He’s the guy who drops hints in interviews. Take the following remarks, for example:

“The second story in a trilogy is where you traditionally end up in a fairly dark place. The third story is where you try and bring some fun and lightness back into it,” says Hudson.

“One thing we tried to do withMass Effect 2was as well as bringing in the more mature stuff, we also tried to bring in a lot more humor so that we can go to these places without making it an overbearing experience. I think we have a lot more fun this time through characters like Joker and EDI.”

Continuing, he says that “Mass Effect 3is going to be the epic conclusion … so, a lot more darkness but also a lot more humor.” There you have it, guys. It’s way too early to reasonably comment on this stuff, but since when has that ever stopped us?
