Man, I freaking LOVEAdventure Island. I played the hell out of every version on the NES when I was a kid, and this morning when I heard that Hudson had announced that a new version of the beloved classic was coming to WiiWare, I couldn’t help but smile out of pure nostalgia.

All we know right now is that the game will be completely new and feature Master Higgins. There’s no word as to whether it will be a side scroller like the originals (please God), but it will be released in Europe this April, so we ought to see a US release soon after.

Retro remakes weren’t all Hudson had to show off: also announced wasOnslaught, a rather handsome-looking FPS that is set in the future and sends you and your team after a lost research colony. As you can imagine, things get ugly out there pretty quickly. Onslaught allows you to co-op with up to four players and comes out next month in Europe.

Is it just me, or are things looking a little brighter for WiiWare after news like this?
