OnSeptember 1st, 3DS owners who are part of Nintendo’s Ambassador program will be able to download the first batch of ten games. In theoriginal announcement, we learned of five NES games that would be made available:Super Mario Bros.,Donkey Kong Jr.,Balloon Fight,Ice Climber, andThe Legend of Zelda. According to thistweetby Nintendo of America, we can addMetroid,NES Open Tournament Golf,Wrecking Crew,Yoshi, andZelda II: The Adventure of Linkto that list. Yup, sounds about right.
The twoZeldagames make sense, what with this year being the franchise’s 25th anniversary, but friggin’Golf? AndWrecking Crew? There’s a newKid Icarusgame coming out soon that could have used some extra exposure through a re-release of the original. I can also only hope that the omission ofKirby’s Adventuremeans that the GBA remake,Nightmare in Dream Land, will be one of the ten GBA games that will be made available at a later date. But the games are free, so whatev.
