It’s that time of the week where we discuss the videogames we’ve been playing here on Destructoid and frankly, if you are yet to experience the Engrish greatness that isOmega 5‘s “narrator,” then we really, really pity you. The game itself is pretty damn fun, but Gracial Fortlesses put it over the edge. Give that voiceover a medal.
So, another week, more games. You know the drill by now, hit that jump and see what the Dtoid crew have been up to.

TheGoldenDonut:After reading Chad’s latest Memory Card I felt the strong urge to hook up my SNES and replayChrono Trigger. I’ve beaten the gameat leasttwenty-five times over the years and it still hasn’t gotten old.
Brad Rice:I’ve finishedPortal, and when I’m out and about, I’m still chugging throughDisgaea: Afternoon of Darkness, but I’m dedicating my time to a special little game that’ll pop up on Dtoid very soon (maybe tomorrow!)

Faith:I’ve been playingMy Simsand I’ve almost got a 5 star town. I playedCooking Mama 2on DS andPuzzle Queston XBLA when I could spare a few moments.
Also I finally caved and bought a Wii points card. Now I’m addicted. I boughtPaper Mariowhich I’ve never played before. The game holds up pretty well for a Nintendo 64 game.

I also bought the originalSuper Mario Bros. which looks amazing on a high def. big screen TV. snicker My boyfriend and I played it all Friday night and only made it as far as World 5-3. We only warped after we made it to a world and died though. We were honest about it.
Next I plan to downloadStartropics. See my games time forgot post and you’ll see why. Then I want all theZeldagames,Pokemon SnapandBonk. Yes, I must haveBonk.

Jonathan Holmes:Been playing a lot of VC console games this week.Punch Out,Bubble Bobble,Air Zonk, andSuper Castelvania IVhave each gotten about a half an hour of my time. I think I’m drawn to the VC because being in 2008 has made me feel exceptionally old and nostalgic. I still can’t believe that I am alive and still playing video games three years after the climatic battle inside Unicron’s taint area between Rodimus Prime and Galvitron. The future truly is now.
I also spent some time reminiscing withPikmin 1andPikmin 2. Those games are so much more awesomely brutal than I remembered, more so than any WWII game I’ve ever played. Finally, I’m still finishing upPhoenix Wright 3.There needs to be an anime of this game, just so more people can experience it. I think it’s the best read I’ve had all year, and that’s counting games, books, and comics.

Yeah, I know we’re only two weeks into the year. That doesn’t meanPW3wont blow your mind.
BlindsideDork:I have been plowing throughThe Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglassand I am at the end. But I have got a bunch of wires in my place up for some stellarTF2action. Now I just have to start on the other 10 games I have piling up.Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wingshere I come!

Aaron Linde:HAIKU TIME
Omega Five
Aegis Wingbe damnedAn original shmup andEasy on the eyesKingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom
What a pile of sh*tEven at the price of “free”I feel ripped off

Chad Concelmo:Besides enjoying Aaron’s amazing haikus, it’s been nothing butFire Emblem: Radiant Dawnthis week.
Jim Sterling:As if you couldn’t tell,Omega 5has taken up a lot of my time. I also feel that I’m about done withHalo 3now, and when February’s mini-festival of gaming hopefuls arise, it will likely take a trip with me to Blockbuster for some part exchanging. Other than that, it’s been more practice withGuitar Hero III, some of the usualCoD4and even a smattering ofWarriors Orochi.

Hamza Aziz:I beatCOD 4the other night. The game left a great impression on me which I’ll be writing up about later. The only bad thing it left behind was how horribly short the title was. Now I just need to hop onto multiplayer. Too bad I just downloading the Heroic Map Pack forHalo 3which will be taking up my multiplayer time now. That is, of course, IF MICROSOFT WOULD F**KING FIX XBOX LIVE ALREADY!!! WHY IN THE HELL CAN’T A BILLION DOLLAR CORPORATION FIX ONE OF THEIR BIGGEST SELLING POINTS BY NOW! IT’S BEEN ALMOST A MONTH!
Also playingI Wanna Be The Guy. Well, more like cursing out my computer and the designer of the game because of how frustrating it is. And a flash game similar toI Wanna Be The Guythat Ogu.RPG turned me onto which also makes me hate Ogu.RPG for it.

Dyson:I finally secured the title of The Last Person on Earth to PlayPortal. Are you proud? I know I’m happy about the whole ordeal, although I’m sad that I’ve missed my window on the whole Cake is a Lie popularity.
Colette Bennett:I have played nothing for days butMove Your HouseandFight The Crowds at Ikea. Actually, that’s a lie – the day before I moved I quite enjoyedOmega 5. I LOVE THE GRACIAL FORTRESS!!!!

Nick Chester:I’ve been spending more time with my PSP, catching up with some older games, the first of which isRatchet and Clank: Size Matters. High Impact did an awesome job of bringing the series to life on the handheld;Size Matterscontains as much polish and variety as Insomniac’s console titles. I’m really looking forward toSecret Agent Clank, for shizzle. More Giant Clank, please.
Also:Super Mario Galaxy,Rock Band, and a freeware indie PC title,Synaesthete.
Tristero:Amidst some personal drama I found relief in the sweet embrace ofDoki Doki Majo Shinpan.Nothing warms the soul like hiding in an equipment shed overnight to ambush a cheerleader and touch her in strange places until she admits she’s a witch. God, I love videogames.PicrossandPhantom Hourglasshave been snatching up a lot of my time also. It’s been a DS week all around.
Gameboi:I’ve been quenching that insatiable zombie fix withResident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles.
Grim:Omega Fiveis so much fun, even if I can’t beat the boss in stage 3. I also had a prepubescent kid scream profanities at me inCall of Duty 4because I was doing better than him, even though we were on the same team. The Internet confuses me.
Tell us, fair gamers, what you have been playing this week.
