Zimmerman:I have been trapped in a cabin in rural Wisconsin for the week, far away from videogame consoles and internet access. As a result, the DS has been my best friend and I’ve been plugging hours intoGrand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars(where I seem to do nothing but trade drugs),The Legendary StarfyandDokapon Journey. I suppose there are worse ways to spend a vacation, assuming that you’re trapped in a cabin with your future in-laws.

Chester:I haven’t played a single videogame all week. True story.

Razak:I finally worked up the gusto to dive back inAssassins Creed. The repetitive gameplay is worth it for simply exploring the cities and the story when you are playing, but once I left it alone for a few weeks I had to really struggle to jump back in. Done now and tearing through it. Otherwise it has beenWii Sports Resortwith friends and that’s pretty much it.

Bennett:Lots ofBookworm Adventures 2andSpace Bubble Bobblefor review purposes. Niero and I have been revisiting Pixeljunk Monsters and the day before yesterday, I decided it was time for that replay ofPersona 3, which I’m dedicating my Sunday to today. I also checked outBoing! Docomodake, which has an awfully familiar looking mushroom as its mascot. Come to find out he’s the mascot for a Japanese cell phone company called Docomo — and the game managed to get localized into English and released here. Don’t ask me how that happened, but the game’s a lot of fun so I’m not complaining!

Concelmo:Nothing butLittle King’s StoryandWii Sports Resortall week. Seriously, have you played these games? They pretty much are the greatest things ever. I really can’t stop playing. It’s like a disease. It’s like having AIDS, but instead of having AIDS you have an addiction toLittle King’s StoryandWii Sports Resort. But without the cast ofRentsinging about you. Okay, fine, it’s nothing like having AIDS. But how great would it be if the cast ofRentdid sing about an addiction toLittle King’s Story andWii Sports Resort?!

“One sport, archery. One sport, before I go. One sport. One sport to play all niiiiiiight!”

Somebody please make that musical happen.

Cantler:I revisited some ofThe Red Starafter Podtoid 109 and found it to be just as great as Linde and I remembered. If you see that anywhere, buy it immediately. Then a littleBubble Bobble Neoon 360. After that, lots ofProject Justice, KOF XII, Marvel Vs Capcom 2, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, someSuper Puzzle Fighter, and a littleStreet Fighter Alpha III. Come to think of it, I’ve been playing pretty much nothing but fightans for about three weeks now. I wonder how many more Shunpakyus my thumb can take before I hit bone.

Niero:Nick sounds like me.  Wait until you have 26 kids and a baby 🙂

Sterling:Mainly playingShatterfor review. Good game. Also picked upCastlevania: Order of Ecclesiaafter putting it off since launch. Haven’t played much of it so far, but it seems decent. Other than that, not too much. Mainly been staving off boredom by revisitingSonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection. Finally forced myself to get the Achievement for reaching the fifth floor ofFatal Labyrinth. Good God that game is shit. Also, I never realizedGolden Axeripped offThe Legend of Zeldafor one of its games. The shamelessness of it is brilliant.

Grim:I think the lastPokemongame I played wasGold/Silver, but I randomly decided to try outFireRedand it’s all coming back to me. This urge may or may not have been triggered by myViva Pinata: Trouble in Paradiseaddiction. On the bright side, the game has, for the first time, ever allowed me to talk with my young sister about a game we’re both interested in. Fun times. There’s even co-op!

Villasenor:Like Conrad, I’ve been out of town for the past few weeks, though I have had access to my PS3. That being the case, I replayedMetal Gear Solid 4, finally startedResistance: Fall of Man, and gaveUnreal Tournament 3a try.UT3‘s story mode is a bit boring, but while I’d like to try playing it online with actual people, the Internet connection here is far too terrible to do so. 🙁

Ross:Like Chad, I am completely and utterly addicted toLittle King’s Story. It is by FAR the best game I’ve played so far this year. About 90% of my gaming time this week has been spent on that, but I also snuck a littleBookworm Adventures (The first one, I won it off Twitter),Street Fighter IV,BlazBlue, andTeam Fortress 2. I also spent most of yesterday playingAion, which is a surprisingly good MMO that might giveWoWa run for its money.

Hell is Us gameplay reveal

Sarkar:As I mentioned onPodtoidlast week, I decided to start playingMirror’s Edgelast Sunday evening. I started playing around 6:30.

By 2 AM or so, I had beaten eight of the game’s nine levels.

Black Ops 6 Season 5 Multiplayer Ransack Mode

I finished off the last level before we recorded Podtoid on Monday night, and I must say, I enjoyed the game. Sure, it got very frustrating at parts; the story was “meh,” mostly because of the way it was conveyed (stupid crappy-Flash-animation 2D cut scenes); and it’s rather short. But the parts of it that were good — and I’d say the majority of it was — bordered on sublime. Here’s hoping the sequel kicks ass.

Otherwise, I received myMadden NFL 10review copy on Wednesday afternoon, but I haven’t been able to spend much time with it because I went to San Francisco on Thursday for aGuitar Hero 5event. I’d talk about that, but you’ll just have to wait until tomorrow afternoon (Eastern time) to read about it on Destructoid!

Tekken Tag Tournament 2: a black and white Jin and Heihachi stand back-to-back.

Holmes:Right now, my significant other is playingWii Sports Resortand totally loving it — all of it. I totally love it, too, which is pretty surprising, as the game failed to impress me at E3 08 and 09. Honestly, I was never that into the concept ofWii Sports, or motion-controlled sports games in genereal, but this game’s changed all that. So much of it feels like, you know,a real game— the swordfighting andPilotwingsbits in particular.Wii Sports Resortcould have shipped with half the content and would have still been well worth the $50.

Also got into a game that takes place on a very different kind of island resort:Flower, Sun and Rain. One of the first things you do in the game is use your PC to “jack in” to a man’s brain by inserting a dongle directly into his eyeball (upon his request, of course). The sexual innuendo is not lost on the in-game characters, either. Some semi-disturbing cyber skull-fuck comments are made, and were greatly appreciated by yours truly.

Then I went back to playingDarkstalkers 3(import Saturn edition), a game that I thought I had completely memorized, but it still found ways to surprise me. And yes, I still thinkBlazBluehas a lot in common with the game. Deal with it.

Other than that, I did my daily challenges (or chores, depending on your perspective) inAnimal Crossing: City FolkandGame Center CX 2, and loved them.

It’s totally awesome, right?
