Those who know me will know that my non-videogame obsessions tend to fluctuate wildly betweenAliensandTransformers, and the obsession is usually kicked into high gear when a videogame is on the horizon. WithWar for Cybertronlooming close, I’ll now be infatuated with physically dishonest robots. Until, of course,Colonial Marinescomes out, then it’s allAliensstuff again.
Anyway, it’s time for games of the week, so hit the jump to find out what we’ve all been playing. That’s kind of the point of the whole thing!
Razak:I startedRed Steel 2. It’s way fun and I’m digging the sword fights. Not sure yet if they’ll entertain all the way through, but I’m hoping so.
PerLee:SMG2.
Holmes:Played moreTomena SannerandCanabaltto prepare for the auto-run platforming giant with isBit.Trip Runner, which releases tomorrow. Also found out about a bunch of secret stuff I didn’t know about inCave Story, like the Alien Metal and the harder to get intro screens, so I got sucked into playing that all over again for the sixth time. It was really fun.
Also downloaded a bunch ofWarioWaregames from theWarioWare D.I.Y. Showcasecontest page, a lot of them are really good, particularly the shmups. Then I played someKoF XIIjust to look at how pretty it is. Then I played some other stuff, but I can’t remember what.
Ross:Didn’t do a ton of gaming this week, other than3D Dot Heroesand a replay throughCastlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. Just startedThe Witchera couple hours ago too, really digging it so far.
Sarkar:I had finals for the first half of this past week, and I didn’t really do much gaming for the rest of it — except maybe some moreBFBC2.
Sterling:Since my copy ofMario Galaxy 2is running late, I’ve had to make do withAlpha Protocol. I can’t really say too much aboutAP, which is a shame, because there’s a LOT to talk about.Dementium IIis being played also, and a review is coming. It’s pretty decent though! Also, still going through my replay ofBorderlands. Not been impressed with the DLC at all, unfortunately, but the main game is still great to play a second time.
