With everything coming out this fall, I completely forgot about the new version ofLost in Bluefor Wii. It hit stores two weeks ago and, to remind us, Konami has released this new trailer showing few of the mini-game activities players will encounter.

I’ve really enjoyed playing this series on the DS and was looking forward to this one, so I’ll probably wind up buying it. It’s a lot more cutesy than the handheld versions, though, which is a bit of a turn-off in what has traditionally been a fairly serious game. Part of the reason for that may be that development ofLost in Blue: Shipwreckedwas handled by Hudson. I’m definately seeing a littleHarvest Mooninfluence in here.

What I do really like is the way swimming looks to work in it, with a point-and-click interface which may help it avoid some of the annoyances that swimming sections often have in 3D games. Another aspect of the game that appeals to me are the pets. As annoying as they appear in the trailer, having something running around and taking care of the simple but time-consuming tasks that frequently hinder progress in these games is a welcome addition.

Do any of you enjoy playing these island survival games? Are you going to pick this one up?
