Final Fantasy Tacticson the PSone is one of the greatest strategy games ever made, and also one of the greatestFinal Fantasygames ever made.Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions, the remastered PSP release, also happens to be the best version of that game. And now, years and years later, that version is available in digital form via PSN download, which formally gives PSP ownersno excuseto not have this game, or for any current owner of a PlayStation product (or iOS product for that matter) to have not at leasttriedplaying it (the original PSone version is available for PS3 owners).
Still,War of the Lionsis the best version, complete with multiplayer, new events and quests,Final Fantasy XIIandTactics A2cameos, and best of all, a completely remastered localization. Yep, not only is the story finally comprehensible, but also super-dramatic. Sure, some have criticized Joseph Reeder and Tom Slattery’s translation as overly florid, but hey, it’s one of the few pieces of games writing out there that actually demands a post-fourth-grade vocabulary.
So go get it, and glory in the total hax-ness of Agrias, Orlandeau, and ninjas. And while you’re at it, go getTactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, too. Ninjas are hax in that one, also.
