After fifteen billion years of nothing, Square Enix has seen fit to finally shed some light onFinal Fantasy Versus XIII, the game Sony fans have been touting as the best game ever, simply because it’s exclusive to the PS3. Seriously though, it seems like it will be better thanFinal Fantasy XIII, and here are some new details.
The big news, and most crucial toFinal Fantasyfans, is thatVersuswill have a huge open field. According to Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomura, the game’s horizon goes “really far” and it’ll take quite a bit of walking to reach the end. It will be populated by monsters, some of which may be random encounters, butFamitsuseems a bit sketchy on that point right now.
To accompany the scant details are some scans revealing gameplay screens. As always, Squenix is putting a huge amount of focus on graphics, with clouds that possess physics and significant draw distances. I just hope they don’t put all their budget into masturbating over graphics as opposed to providing solid gameplay and narrative this time around. Fingers crossed!
